談父職參與於生態系統理論之落實

壹、前言
根據主計處(2002)公佈之「戶口及住宅普查」統計資料指出，台灣地區20歲及以上同住夫妻就業狀況，以夫妻雙方均就業者的比例最高(占44.17％)，顯見隨著社會環境及勞動市場的結構改變，很多已婚婦女為分擔家中經濟，紛紛從家庭走入工作職場，這除了表示雙薪家庭仍為目前社會之主要家庭型態，有逐年增加的趨勢外，亦顯示出女性在家中之經濟支持角色的加重，父親已不再是家庭經濟的唯一來源與供應者。
另一項統計數據亦指出，在同住夫妻中，丈夫平日處理家事（包括兒童照顧）之平均時數為1.10小時，妻子則為3.11小時，妻子處理家事時數是丈夫的2.83倍（主計處，2003），其中若單就「照顧兒童」一項來看，以主要負責者來看，仍以妻子為主（91.03%），男性擔任主要照顧者比例佔不到一成（7.17%）。在每日與6至未滿12歲子女相處時間方面，男性超過三小時以上者不到五成(49.45%)，女性則超過八成(81.48%)。足見即使母親就業，男女在家務分配及子女照顧上，仍以女性居多。較諸以往，雖然現代的父親願意且花更多時間主動與孩子相處、負起照養之責，並成為一個「負責任」的父親的比率確有增加，但相較於母親，仍是明顯不足（Barnett
& Baruch,1987; McBride & Rane, 1998; Pleck, 1997；黃怡瑾，2001；吳黛宜，2003）。可見，婦女並沒有因為投入職場，而減輕其在家庭內所扮演的角色功能與責任，母親仍是家中子女主要養育與照顧者 (Deutsch, 2001)，父親似仍只是從旁協助者。
近年來許多有關父職之研究探討，皆肯定父職角色對子女成長發展的重要性(Pickard, 1998；王佩玲，1993；陳淑貞，1993；呂素美，1994；李淑娟，1996；張佩韻，1998；王叢桂，
2000；蔡宜佳，2000)。傳統觀念總認為母親才是養兒育女的當然人選，以往心理學家也認為，母親才是天生的好媬姆（游乾桂，1998），然此種視親職即母職，或視養育子女為女性義務或天職的看法，已隨著女性主義運動興起、性別平權意識抬頭及女性大量投入職場等因素影響，而日漸動搖，社會開始期望、鼓勵男性要走回家庭並共同分擔親職之責(Atkinson
& Blackewelder，1993)。
貳、父職參與
男人也許從小就沒有機會去觀察學習、雕塑其高度參與教養子女的父親形象
(Hawkins & Roberts, 1992; McBride, 1990)。不過隨著社會變遷與性別角色觀念的改變，從1980年代中期迄今對於父親參與幼兒養育的角色扮演以及鼓勵其參與的因素的議題引起了家庭研究學者與親職教育實務工作者的興趣（McBride, & Rane,1998；呂翠夏，2002b）。Marsiglio (1995)認為這股風潮的促成因素，主要有三：（1）現代家庭結構的轉變；（2）母親投入職場增加及其對家務事如何分配的衝擊；（3）討論有關兒童福利等公共議題的增多(引自 McBride
& Rane, 1998)。Pleck和Pleck(1997)認為美國的「理想父親」形象，至少經歷了四次的轉變：（1）嚴格的一家之主；（2）距離遙遠的經濟供應者；（3）和藹可親的「爹地」（dad）和性別角色的模範（model）；（4）與妻子共同負起照顧孩子之責的「爹地」。可見父職是一個隨著時間演進而變動的歷程，社會對父親該做什麼及應該做什麼的期望亦隨時間而改變(LaRossa, Gordon, Wilson, Bauran, & Jaret,1991)。
然以往探討男人是否能稱職的扮演好其親職角色，或其是否能與母親提供子女相同需求的議題，已不再是現今研究的主流。社會更期望父親能扮演一主動涉入子女教養的角色(Pleck & Pleck, 1997; McBride & Mills, 1993)。Levin 和 Leinbach在1995年提出「負責任的父職」（responsible
fathering）的概念，認為其內涵應包括：（1）等自己的情緒及經濟等條件足夠時，才生養小孩；（2）盡法律所賦予的父親職責；（3）從懷孕期間，便主動與妻子分擔對於孩子情緒的、生理的照顧工作；（4）從懷孕期間，與妻子共同提供孩子的經濟需要（引自Doherty,
Kouneski, & Erickson, 1998）。即是指有責任的父親要主動參與孩子的生活，承諾去發現、學習並使用必要技巧去滋養孩子成長，並把孩子放在第一位。
國內外已有豐富的研究指出：當男人積極參與孩子的養育活動對孩子的發展有正面影響(Lamb, 1997; McBride & Rane,
1998；)，例如：父親參與親職對孩子的認知發展較好（Dubowitz et al，2001），有父親形象（不論正面或負面）的孩子，其社會競爭感較強且較少出現沮喪癥候( Almeida &
Galambos, 1991; Coltrane,1995; Yogman, Kindlon, & Earls, 1995; Lamb, 1997;
Starrels, 1994; Williams, Radin, & Allegro, 1992)。此外，父職參與除了在兒童的性別刻板印象、性別角色態度、孩子的社會化發展（Baruch & Barnett, 1986；林震雯，1993；陳曉慧，1999）有正面的影響外，還可提高孩子的內控力及認知發展(McBride, 1990)並幫助其性別角色認同的塑造(Baruch & Barnett, 1986)。徵諸上述研究，可看出父職參與對子女的正面影響與重要性，是無庸置疑的，因此對影響父職參與的因素的了解就越刻不容緩。
參、生態系統理論
個體和環境互動的模式不只介於同一層環境系統中，而是多層環境系統中的交互作用，每個系統直接或間接與其它系統互動，且複雜地影響個人發展。Bronfenbrenner（1979）認為個人從出生後及受到四個系統的直接影響與交互作用下的影響下發展，這四個系統依與個體互動的頻率及密切的程度有所區別，由小到大的四個系統層層相關如同「草履蟲」般的巢狀結構（如圖1），這四個層級的生態系統中是充滿活力的（energy）的、會維持平衡的（equilibrium）、且沒有一個系統是全開或全閉的。

Doherty, Kouneski & Erickson（1998）即應用生態系統的觀點，建構出影響父職參與的概念模式，此種觀點認為父親、母親和孩子的幸福是相互糾纏的，不再是零和觀點。所謂的父職不應單指一個個別的男性特質行為或父子關係，而是涉及父親、母親、孩子整個大家庭（包括親戚）、社區、文化、組織的多邊過程。如下圖：
（一）共親職部分
近年來許多有關父職之研究探討，皆肯定父職角色對子女成長發展的重要性(Pickard, 1998；王佩玲，1993；陳淑貞，1993；呂素美，1994；李淑娟，1996；張佩韻，1998；王叢桂，
2000；蔡宜佳，2000)。然父職參與所帶來的影響並非都是正向的，Lamb, Pleck 和 Levine (1985)指出，父職參與要有正向的影響，除了兩夫妻彼此要有共同的期望（引自 McBride,
1990）外，夫妻在共親職(coparenting) 註1的夥伴關係品質，也攸關其是否具備成功養育一個孩子所需的能力（Emery
& Tuer, 1993）。
換言之，在複雜的家庭系統中，其間的不同互動關係，對孩子的發展都會產生影響。以核心家庭而言，包含了父母與孩子三方的關係，其任兩者（如：父母、父子、母子、手足）或三者（如：父－母－子、親－子－手足）的互動關係，皆為動態家庭系統的一部份(Konold & Abidin, 2001 )。McHale (2000)指出父親與母親個別與孩子間之互動，和父母同時與孩子互動的歷程有相當大的差異，除了受到配偶教養信念與行為影響外，更受夫妻雙方在共親職的合作關係影響。因此，身為一位好父親不應僅回應社會所期望或改變中的父親角色，除了在勞務上分攤母親教養子女的責任外，父親還必須學習親職技巧，並投注大量的情感（Emery, & Tuer, 1993），以促進父親與妻子及子女間的情感交流。而「親職聯盟」在此便扮演了一個支持性的角色，協助營造夫妻間的合作夥伴關係，注滿雙親提供情感參與的能力（Emery, & Tuer, 1993）。家庭系統及心理分析學者也認為家庭成員最重要的功能，就是彼此互相支持(引自 Gable, Crnic, & Belsky, 1994)，故其非常著重夫妻間「共親職聯盟(coparenting
alliance)註2」(Minuchin,
1985; Weissman & Cohen, 1985)的伙伴關係，也認為探討「親職聯盟」對家庭其他次系統的影響有其必要性。
(二)母親因素
家庭系統理論之相關研究中，認為父親在參與孩子教養之親職工作時，母親是否有給予支持是非常重要的(Allen & Hawkins,1999)。尤其當母親相信父親在共親職的平等分工上是可信賴時，則家庭便顯得較和樂也較少衝突(McHale, Rao,& Krasnow, 2000)，在Barnett
and Baruch(1987)的研究中也發現父親的性別角色態度在夫妻共同參與孩子教養上並無影響，而妻子的就業與否與其性別角色態度會影響父親花在與子女獨處的時間上。亦即母親若較傾向父親應負起親職責任者，父親會較願意花時間與孩子相處。這表示扮演「守門人」（Gatekeeper） 角色的母親，也直接影響父親參與子女的活動(Fagan
& Barnett,2003)。
（三）情境因素
情境因素包括了父親所面臨的經濟條件、種族待遇、文化價值和社會支持等等。父親收入的短缺或沒有就業機會對父職易造成負面的影響。除此來自社會的負面力量，例如種族的差別待遇也會使父親產生心理壓力，進而導致負向的親職型態和不和諧的夫妻關係。
（四）孩子的因素
所謂孩子的因素包括孩子對父親的態度、孩子本身的行為問題、孩子的性別、年齡等。Marsiglio於1991年的研究發現，較年長的兒子較認同父親且與父親溝通。且Larson(1993)發現父親比母親更易於親子衝突中產生退卻的行為，可見孩子的因素也會影響父親在親職行為上的表現。
（五）父親的因素
所謂父親的因素指的是：父親角色的認同、知識、親職技巧、承諾、心理健康、與自己父親的關係、受僱的特質及其在家庭中的地位等。徵諸上述研究可發現，雖然母親的支持、情境因素對父職參與親職的行為都會產生影響，但父親本身的承諾、知識與親職技巧，卻也是克服負向母親態度、夫妻關係和情境影響的關鍵。尤其是父親早年的家庭經驗，更是其在角色認同、承諾感與自我效能的來源（Daly,1995）。
肆、結論
經由上述研究除了可以了解父職參與對子女影響的重要性外，也發現以生態系統理論作為研究的檢視基礎，除了了解表面因素外，也點出了各互動層面環環相扣的重要性及關聯性。
歸結而論，生態系統理論強調的不再只是單一變項間的簡單線性關係而已，其以不同面向、不同切入角度與觀點來分析問題，架構了細微的個人構面到巨觀的社會脈絡構面之間的關係，讓人可以了解到不同系統間的互動機制及各不同面向間之關聯。對父職參與之研究而言，藉由生態系統理論不同層面之多元化分析，可找出影響父職參與微觀至巨觀的所有層面與關鍵，提供有效可行之策略思維，而不會流於形式。
